My Hubby....I'm a lucky girl!

So here's my second post today. Can I just say how much I love my Hubbs. He's so awesome. I mean I've been working my tail off the past several weeks & this week it has really caught up w/me. I've been really tired. For those of you that don't know, I work nights, which makes it even harder. So this week my hubby has been waiting to wake me up until 6 or 7 pm as opposed to waking me at 5-5:30 when he gets home. He also made dinner tonight & refused to let me thank him. Then on my way to work he called me & said, "I just wanted to tell you that I Love you". How sweet is that? I am just so thankful that I found him. We have been together for almost 16 years & married for 14 & 1/2 of those, & I still can't imagine my life without him. He's an amazing father & husband. OK enough with the sappy stuff. Just wanted to brag on him a bit.

Scrap Happy!

I started liking scrapbooking several years ago but, haven't done any in a few years. This is due to a few reason's 1) Now that I'm working full time, my free time is taken up with spending time w/my hubby & kids, 2)It takes a while to put together a page, 3)when I'm done I have lots to clean up. Well, recently I came across something that has made this problem much easier. TWO WORDS, are you ready. Digital scrapbooking. It is so cool. It's all done on my computer. All of the backgrounds, embellishments, letters, fonts, stickers frames, EVERYTHING I could possibly need. It even has quick layout pages that you can just add your pics & journaling to. It takes me way less time to put together a page, there's no clean up, & best of all I can print the pages out & just slide them into a scrapbook. The other great thing is that I can burn them onto DVD to make a DVD scrapbook that can be watched on TV. The software I bought is called Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 4.0. I ordered it from Amazon. It's wonderful. Here are a few of the pages that I made. The one's of S & N aren't quite finished though & the picture quality is much better in the real deal as opposed to this small size upload for the blog.

Izzy- The newest member of our family.

S & I have been talking about getting another Boston terrier for awhile. Abby is just so active that we feel that she needs a friend for when we are not home. After months of consideration over wheather to adopt a Boston or buy one we decided to buy a pup. Although I'm a huge fan of rescue pets, I found that to get a full blooded Boston you have to go through a rescue group most of the time. This is not a bad thing, but the fees that are being charged for a rescue (most of which still have to be trained) are very comperable to buying a pup. Also, the adoption process is ver drawn out & detailed. Not that that is a bad thing either. I understand that they just want to make sure the dog is getting the best of homes, but quit honestly I just found it to be too big of a pain in the butt. So I started looking for a female pup. I didn't want one that came from a "breeder". meaning someone who makes a living off of breeding dogs & has multiple animals. Most of which A: do not get the best vet care (vet bills cut into profit) & B: the parents are usually locked in cages or kennels & do not get socialization. I do not think that this is the right way to treat such great animals. I was looking for someone who had a Boston as a pet & decided to breed her. Well that is very hard to find. So I posted an add on a free local internet trading post that we have. & got a call the same day from someone in Seguin that had a first litter of 7 yes 7 pups, 3 boys 4 girls. She emailed me pics & a few days later we went to look at them. The mom & dad were both pets of the family & were inside dogs, very social, & about the size of Abby. And, they only had 1 more dog, a Lab. So since I couldn't find anymore situations like this to get a pup from, we chose one of the little females. She will be old enough for us to bring home on 4/27. Her name is Izabel Grace, but we will call her Izzy for short. Shelby came up with Izabel. Here are some updated photos that they sent me today.

Stranger Danger

OK so my mom called me tonight & said that she looked @ my blog & although she thought it was great she didn't think that I should put so much personal info on it. Such as kids names, town where we live, pets & family member's names. She thought this gives too much info to people that could harm my kids. This blog is really only meant for family & friends so I never really thought @ strangers looking at it. She is right though. So I have removed the kids names & will be using only their first initial from now on & I have also removed the town where we live. I figure the people we know will know who I'm talking about when I say, S did this or N did that.
This conversation also spurred on another talk with S & N about Stranger Danger, how they can not go with anyone even if that person says that they know someone or gives them information about our family that strangers wouldn't know. We also had a talk @ if someone ever tried to take them that they should NEVER go & should fight as hard as possible & scream their lungs out. S's response to this was to tell me that she worries @ N because he is so friendly, but N's response was to show me all of the moves that he could do to hurt the stranger & get away. :)

Getting the hang of it

OK, so I've been messing around with this blog thing & I've figured out how to add things to it. The one thing that I've not figured out is how to add a music URL, & where to get them. If anyone has any tips, they would be appreciated. I figured out how to add You tube videos though. Check out my videos on the left of Russell Peters. He is hysterical. My favorite comedian ever.

Starting to Blog

OK, so my sister-in-law, J, has been doing this blog thing for awhile & I think it's kinda cool. I get to read @ what's going on w/her, S, & "my" boys K & T. She also posts some great pics. So now I have decided that I am going to start a blog so that my friends & fam can check it out. Be patient w/me as this is all new to me. I will try to post some pics tonight. By the way J's blog is http://www.scatterbrainedmomma.blogspot.com/
